Craigslist. It's like a bad fishing spot.

I think it is interesting to read about all these people who make casual hook ups on Craigslist. My experience with CL has mostly been frustration from fake responses and gay men. I think gay men have overtaken CL like they took over some of the original social networking sites of the late 90s. I have had a little success from CL, but I'd be really interested to find a better place to pursue my secret encounter. Craigslist reminds me of fishing, and worse yet, fishing in a really ad spot. Lots of weeds, some bites but nothing worth keeping.

So how do people do it. I am quite sure it is easier in some ways for women than it is for men, although women have to not only weed through all the spam, but also through numerous real responses from the plethora of men looking to get laid. Although the blogosphere speaks otherwise, it would appear that there are very few women looking for casual sex on CL. Almost every ad supposedly place by a female on CL appears to be fake and results in some kind of response asking for something strange. "Go to my website," "join this dating service", "chat with me on AOL at this address..." So what do women do? Hang out in bars? Well, I know what women do. They simply wait and one of us guys will eventually say something, do something or simply stumble into their web, unaware. Women don't have to advertise because men view every woman as an advertisement. "Look at that ass" and "check out that rack," it is all advertising. The question is, when is it advertising some sort of availability and when is it advertising just "look at me (but don't touch)."

I'm not the most courageous man when it comes to women. And now, being married and with much to lose, I would be foolish to just outwardly hit on a woman in my own community. So I am searching for how all these people I am reading about meet. Maybe they are all full of shit and just write fictitious blogs about dreamed up encounters, but maybe not. Im sure some are real. I'm probably not in the right "world" for the life some of these bloggers write about. While I do live in a city of 2 Million, I am not out on the town in the evening or on the weekends, but prefer to stay home, swim in my own pool, cook and eat good food, hang out in my hot tub, and explore the deserts and mountains far from the quad trails and camp sites. I'm not into money, don't watch TV, don't care for movies, I don't even have an iPod. I guess all this really shrinks my playing field.

I do have some things going for me, but I fear they are not things that many women care about when they think about infidelity or getting laid. I'm a nice guy. Aside from my desire to slip outside my marriage, I am for the most part an honest and reliable "scumbag." I'm easy going, good looking, open minded, and funny. I care about people, the environment and social justice. Most of all I like to make people happy, and that is one of my desires in seeking out an affair. I want to pleasure a woman. I want to be with someone with whom i can bestow great erotic pleasures. Someone who wants to explore and take me places my wife would never go. I want to role play (although I have a feeling it will not live up to my fantasies), talk dirty, maybe explore a little anal play and dominant roles. I want to be with a woman who is vocal and lets her pleasure be heard.

I know CL gets a lot more attention than my Blog so perhaps I should keep posting there, but I am hoping that the quality of the visitors to my blog will be significantly higher. Slowly I will build up a following. Some how. Responding to other blogs, joining them, spray painting my blog address on city buses.
